Daily Itinerary
-
Your pilgrimage begins as you depart for the Holy Land. As you travel toward Israel, prepare your heart for this sacred journey where the Gospel comes alive in the very places where Jesus lived, preached, died, and rose again. Overnight flight.
-
Upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred north to Nazareth, the town where Jesus spent His childhood. After hotel check-in, take time to rest and prepare for the days ahead. Dinner and overnight in Nazareth.
-
After breakfast, travel to Mount Tabor, the traditional site of the Transfiguration of Jesus, where His divine glory was revealed to Peter, James, and John. Continue to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation, built over the home of the Virgin Mary where the Angel Gabriel announced the birth of Christ. Time will also be spent at the Upper Basilica and the traditional workshop of St. Joseph. Dinner and overnight in Nazareth.
-
Today explore the region where much of Jesus’ ministry took place. Begin with a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee, recalling the Gospel stories that unfolded on these waters. Visit the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount, followed by Tabgha, the site of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes and the Primacy of Peter. Enjoy the traditional St. Peter’s fish for lunch before continuing to Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ Galilean ministry, where you will see the remains of the ancient synagogue and the house of Peter. Dinner and overnight in Nazareth.
-
After breakfast, visit Cana of Galilee where Jesus performed His first miracle at the wedding feast. Couples may renew their wedding vows here. Continue to Haifa to visit the Carmelite Monastery of Stella Maris on Mount Carmel, associated with the prophet Elijah. Enjoy panoramic views of the Mediterranean before traveling south with a brief orientation stop in the ancient port city of Jaffa. Continue to Bethlehem for hotel check-in, dinner, and overnight.
-
Today visit the birthplace of Christ. Begin in Manger Square and enter the Church of the Nativity, where the Grotto marks the exact place where Jesus was born. Celebrate Mass if possible. Continue to the Shepherds’ Field where angels announced the birth of the Savior to the shepherds watching their flocks. Reflect on the humility and wonder of the Nativity before returning for dinner and overnight in Bethlehem.
-
After breakfast visit Bethany, home of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. Continue to the Jordan River baptismal site where pilgrims may renew their baptismal promises. Travel onward to Jericho, the world’s oldest continuously inhabited city, where you will see the Sycamore Tree associated with Zacchaeus and view the Mount of Temptation. Later enjoy time to float in the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea before returning to Bethlehem for dinner and overnight.
-
Begin the day on the Mount of Olives with panoramic views of Jerusalem. Visit the Pater Noster Church and Ascension Chapel before walking the Palm Sunday path to Dominus Flevit, where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. Continue to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations, reflecting on Christ’s agony before His Passion. Later visit Mount Zion including St. Peter in Gallicantu, the Dormition Abbey, and the Cenacle—the Upper Room of the Last Supper. Conclude with a visit to the Western Wall. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
-
Very early in the morning walk the Via Dolorosa through the Old City following the path of Jesus carrying the Cross to Calvary. At the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the site of the Crucifixion and Resurrection, celebrate Mass if possible. Later visit the Pools of Bethesda and the Church of St. Anne before traveling to Ein Karem, the birthplace of St. John the Baptist and the site of the Visitation of Mary to Elizabeth. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.
-
After breakfast transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for your return flight home, carrying with you the spiritual graces and memories of walking in the footsteps of Christ in the Holy Land.
